Scott Tess currently serves as the Sustainability & Resilience Officer for the City of Urbana, Illinois, a role held since August 2012, focusing on various aspects of sustainability, climate resilience, and environmental management including renewable procurement, waste management, and biodiversity. Previously, Scott held the position of Environmental Sustainability Manager, implementing software solutions and managing franchise agreements related to sustainability initiatives. Prior experience includes working as a Pollution Prevention Coordinator and a National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System Inspector with the Orange County Government Environmental Protection Division, where Scott engaged in site assessments and ensured compliance with environmental regulations. Early in the career, Scott served as an Environmental Specialist at Florida Health, managing well and septic programs. Educational credentials include a Master’s Degree in Civic Urbanism from Rollins College and a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
