Johnny Lai

Johnny Lai is an experienced financial professional with a demonstrated history in public administration and consulting. Currently serving as the Director of Engineering Financial Planning & Analysis at the City of Vancouver since November 2013, Johnny manages the planning and reporting of the city's engineering annual operating budget and provides strategic financial recommendations to leadership. Previous roles include Senior Financial Analyst and Strategic Financial Analyst, where Johnny developed financial models and managed teams to enhance operational efficiency. Prior experience at Ernst & Young LLP as a Manager involved providing financial analysis for litigation support and mergers and acquisitions. Additionally, Johnny has academic experience as a teaching assistant at The University of British Columbia, complemented by a Bachelor of Commerce with Honours in Accounting from the same institution.
