Gila Martow

Gila Martow currently serves as a City Council Member for Ward 5 in the City of Vaughan, a position held since May 2022. Prior to this role, Gila Martow was a candidate for the Progressive Conservative Party of Ontario and served as a Member of Provincial Parliament for Thornhill from February 2014 to May 2022. Gila Martow also held the position of President of the Beverley Glen Ratepayers Association, representing the area to various government levels from October 2011 to February 2014. Additionally, Gila Martow has a background in optometry, practicing as an optometrist from 1984 to 2014. Gila Martow was also the host of 'Trending York Region with Gila' on All Talk TV, where discussions revolved around the intersection of politics and community issues. Gila Martow obtained a Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of Waterloo between 1980 and 1984.
