Melissa Hipp has served in various roles within the City of Vestavia Hills, Alabama, since 2007. Currently, as Assistant to the City Manager since October 2013, Melissa has navigated significant challenges, including a major turnover in city leadership and the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic. Prior to this role, Melissa gained valuable experience in the Finance department as Accounting Assistant II, focusing on centralized purchasing and municipal procurement functions. Initial responsibilities included providing administrative support and grant management, alongside public communication efforts. Melissa holds a Master of Public Health in Behavioral Science and a Bachelor of Arts in History with University Honors, complemented by a minor in Biology, from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
