Zachary Clifton, CPA has a diverse work experience spanning over a decade. Zachary is currently serving as the Deputy Finance Director at the City of Vestavia Hills, Alabama, overseeing daily operations and providing strategic direction to the department. Prior to this, Zachary worked at BMSS, LLC as a Senior Manager for six years. During this time, they gained valuable experience in financial management and client services. Before joining BMSS, LLC, Zachary served as a Staff Accountant at Moses, Phillips, Young, Brannon, & Henninger, LLP, where they specialized in attestation services and auditing financial statements for various entities. Zachary started their career at Regions Financial Corporation as a Senior Vault Teller, where they played a crucial role in risk management and handled large sums of money. Zachary's work experience demonstrates their expertise in accounting, finance, and compliance with accounting standards and regulations.

Zachary Clifton, CPA, holds a Master of Accounting degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, which they completed in 2013. Prior to their master's degree, they obtained a Bachelor of Accounting degree from the same institution, graduating in 2011. In addition to their academic achievements, Zachary Clifton has acquired various certifications throughout their career. Zachary became a Certified Public Accountant in October 2014, certified by the Alabama State Board of Public Accountancy. Zachary also holds a certification as a Certified Municipal Revenue Officer, obtained in March 2023 from The University of Alabama, and an ACCMA Local Government Professional Management Certification from Auburn University, obtained in June 2023.
