Valerie Zimmer

Valerie Zimmer serves as a Senior Water Resources Control Engineer at the State Water Resources Control Board, focusing on stream gaging and drought planning initiatives. With extensive experience, Valerie has led efforts to enhance streamflows for salmonid habitat protection and to evaluate water supply forecasting and rights allocation. Additionally, Valerie is the Chair of the Transportation, Mobility, and Infrastructure Commission in West Sacramento, providing guidance on critical urban infrastructure and transportation planning. Valerie's prior roles include engineering research at WikiHouse New Zealand, lecturing at the University of Canterbury, and extensive work in rock mechanics at various organizations. Valerie's academic qualifications include a PhD and Masters in Civil Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley, complemented by a business credential from Harvard Business School and a BSE from Princeton University.
