Jeff Thomas

Jeff Thomas is a seasoned GIS professional with extensive experience in cartography and geospatial analysis. Currently serving as a Senior GIS Analyst for the City of Wilmington, NC since March 2016, Jeff administers various GIS platforms including ArcGIS Enterprise/Portal and SQL Server while supporting the Department of Planning & Development. Previous roles include a GIS Specialist at AECOM/URS where project management and technical advising were key responsibilities, and a GIS Analyst for the Tennessee Department of Transportation, managing ArcGIS services and databases. With earlier positions focused on cartographic production and development at companies like Rand McNally, Nystrom, and American Map, Jeff has honed expertise in GIS tools and applications throughout a career spanning over two decades. Jeff holds a BA in Geography from the University of Missouri-Columbia and has further education from Northeastern Illinois University.
