Brett Garelli has extensive experience in environmental engineering and operations management, currently serving as the Assistant Director for the City of Wood Dale since February 2019. Concurrently, Brett has been the Deputy Director and Plant Manager at the Stickney Water Reclamation Plant for the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District (MWRD) since September 1986. Earlier in their career, Brett worked as a Production Engineer at Archer Daniels Midland from May 1985 to September 1986, overseeing shift production at a large soybean crushing and extraction facility. Brett holds a Master's degree in Environmental Engineering from the Illinois Institute of Technology (1994-1998) and a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from the University of Iowa (1980-1985).

The City of Wood Dale is a northwest suburban community of approximately 13,000 residents. Incorporated in 1928, it became a city in 1970. Wood Dale has a daytime population of over 35,000.
