City of Wood Dale
Melody Rissman has extensive experience in law enforcement, serving as a Police Sergeant for the City of Wood Dale since June 2005, where responsibilities include midnights watch commander, FTO supervisor, and juvenile officer coordinator, among other roles. Rissman also holds the position of Adjunct Instructor at the Suburban Law Enforcement Academy since March 2019, focusing on defensive tactics. Previously, Rissman worked as a Police Detective with certifications in arson and as an ER Technician (EMT) at Kishwaukee Community Hospital from August 2001 to May 2005. Rissman holds a Master's degree in Criminal Justice/Law Enforcement Administration from Lewis University and a Bachelor's degree in Criminology from Northern Illinois University. Additionally, Rissman is currently pursuing a Trilogy through FBI LEEDA and has participated in programs at Northwestern University.

The City of Wood Dale is a northwest suburban community of approximately 13,000 residents. Incorporated in 1928, it became a city in 1970. Wood Dale has a daytime population of over 35,000. The City is surrounded by three golf courses and many acres of forest preserves.
