Dave Atkinson

Dave Atkinson currently serves as the Director of Environmental and Regulatory Services at the City of York Council, a position held since August 2025. Previously, Dave was the Assistant Director for Connectivity and Sustainability at Staffordshire County Council from September 2023 to July 2025 and held various roles at the City of York Council from May 2008 to September 2023, including Head of Highways and Transport and Programme Manager for multiple initiatives. Dave's extensive experience encompasses leading transformative programmes, managing performance and business intelligence, and overseeing significant regeneration projects. Prior roles include senior IT positions at Yorkshire Forward and the East Riding of Yorkshire Council, as well as a technical role at the UK Ministry of Defence. Dave holds a Master’s degree in Geographical Information Science from The University of Salford.
