Joi Chimera

Joi Chimera (Merrill) currently serves as the Assistant Director of Instructional Technology for the City School District of New Rochelle since April 2022. With extensive experience in educational technology, Joi previously held the role of Secondary Educational Technology Coach and 5th Grade Teacher at Kenmore Tonawanda UFSD from 1998 to April 2022. Joi has actively contributed to the Kenmore Teachers Association as an Executive Board member and Webmaster from 2002 to 2017, and participated as a delegate for NYSUT, engaging in Fair Trade advocacy and social justice initiatives. Joi's commitment to teacher development is evident in a three-year mentor position within the Kenmore Town of Tonawanda School District from 2006 to 2009 and significant leadership roles at the Kenmore Staff Development Center. Educational qualifications include an Advanced Diploma in School Leadership & Technology from New York Institute of Technology and a Master's degree in Education from Canisius University.
