Shawn Simon

Shawn Simon is a highly experienced educator with a focus on special education. Currently serving as the Regional Lead Clinical Faculty for Elementary Special Education at City Teaching Alliance since August 2018, Shawn has also held roles as Lead Clinical Faculty and Clinical Faculty within the same organization. Additionally, Shawn holds the position of Senior Professorial Lecturer at American University since June 2021. Prior experience includes serving as a lead teacher for 1st grade at Baltimore City Public Schools from August 2007 to August 2018, where classroom dynamics incorporated technology and interdisciplinary approaches to cater to diverse student needs. Earlier, Shawn was a Classroom Teaching Assistant at Manhasset Union Free School District from August 2006 to June 2007, utilizing assistive technology to support student learning and IEP goals. Shawn holds a Master of Arts in Instructional Technology from Towson University and a Bachelor of Science in Inclusive Elementary and Special Education with a focus on Sociology from Syracuse University.
