Denis Nash serves as the Executive Director of the CUNY Institute for Public Health (CUNY ISPH) and a Distinguished Professor of Epidemiology at the City University of New York (CUNY) since 2010. Additionally, Denis holds the position of Executive Officer for the Doctor of Public Health Program and directs the Epidemiology Doctoral Program within CUNY. Since August 2021, Denis has also been the Chief Executive Officer and Technical Expert at Epidemic Intelligence, focusing on COVID-19 reopening strategies. Prior academic engagements include an adjunct associate professorship at Columbia University and a directorship at the New York Academy of Medicine's Monitoring, Evaluation and Research Unit. Denis's professional experience encompasses leadership roles in public health, including directing the HIV/AIDS Case Surveillance Unit at the NYC Department of Health and serving as an EIS Officer at the CDC. Denis earned a PhD in Epidemiology and Preventive Medicine from the University of Maryland, an MPH in Epidemiology and Public Health from Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, and a BS in Physics from Drexel University.
