Eusebio (Seb) Formoso joined The City University of New York as vice chancellor for information technology and university chief information officer in June 2022. In this role, Formoso directs the Office of Computing and Information Services (CIS) and is responsible for developing the University’s technology strategy and providing leadership and direction with respect to the operation of CUNY’s technology systems, core business applications, voice and data networks, IT Security and data center operations as well as the implementation of the University’s enterprise resource planning project (CUNYfirst).
Mr. Formoso is an information technology executive with a long and proven record leading and managing all aspects of global IT organizations in a wide range of industries. His experience includes 25+ years leading and transforming IT and systems for IBM, Konica, PepsiCo, Phillip Morris, Altria, Coca-Cola, Diageo, ServiceMaster and PHH Mortgage.
As chief information officer for the New York City Department of Finance, Mr. Formoso was responsible for overseeing DOF’s IT systems and cyber security while providing solutions that meet the agency’s objectives which include the collection of nearly $43 billion annual revenue for the City as well as administering exemption and abatement programs that provide $3.8 billion annually in tax relief to property owners and renters.
Since joining DOF in September 2015 he completed the implementation of NYC’s new Business Tax and Property Tax systems as well theEusebio first-of-a-kind NYC Parking Ticket Pay Or Dispute mobile app. He has also worked on the transformation of NYC Land Records using optical character recognition and the modernization of the NYC Sheriff’s systems.
