From September 2017 to August 2018, they served as a Senior Manager, Revenue & Development and contributed to a $2.8m increase in revenue. From September 2018 to February 2019, they worked as Chief of Staff, Revenue & Development, driving a $2.7m increase in revenue and supporting the launch of Chalkbeat Newark. From February 2019 to May 2022, they took on the role of Chief of Staff, CEO & Executive team, leading internal communications and overseeing the launch of Chalkbeat Philadelphia.
Currently, Bethanie serves as the Senior Director of Strategy & Expansion at Civic News Company, a position they have held since May 2022.
