Reema Amin is an experienced journalist with a specialization in education and community issues. Currently serving as a News Reporter at Chalkbeat since September 2018, Reema covers the nation's largest public school system, focusing on the impact of state policy, funding, and challenges faced by vulnerable student populations. Prior experience includes roles as a reporter for Daily Press, where urban topics were explored, and as a Breaking News Reporter at the Chicago Sun-Times, honing skills in rapid and accurate news reporting. Reema has also contributed freelance work for AustinTalks.org and gained foundational experience through internships and reporting positions at the Daily Herald and The Daily Illini. Reema holds a Bachelor's degree in News-Editorial Journalism from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and a Master's degree in Public Affairs Journalism from Columbia College Chicago.
