Ronan Burke

Ronan Burke's work experience starts in 2014 when they were awarded the Liberty IT scholarship and completed an 8-week summer placement as a Bursary Software Engineer. Ronan worked on new features, created unit tests, performed smoke testing, and fixed defects during this placement. In 2015, they joined Liberty Information Technology as an Intern Software Engineer, where they designed and developed web services in Java, tested and maintained these services, and collaborated with teammates on analyzing defects. Ronan worked in this role until August 2016. Ronan then rejoined Liberty Information Technology in 2017 as an Associate Software Engineer, working on features on all layers of the application using Java, Angular, and SQL. Ronan also developed microservices and worked on AWS/cloud-based apps. In April 2018, they became a full-time Software Engineer at Liberty Information Technology, where they developed new features and fixed defects on a Java web application. Ronan also became an "AWS Certified Developer – Associate" during this time. In September 2018, Ronan joined Civica as a Senior .NET Developer and was responsible for requirements gathering, design, development, testing, and delivery of mobile applications. Ronan also led and managed several small project teams. In April 2023, they were promoted to the role of Principal Software Engineer at Civica.

Ronan Burke attended Limavady Grammar School from 2006 to 2013, although they did not obtain a degree or specialize in any particular field of study during this time. Then, from 2013 to 2017, they pursued a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Computer Science at Ulster University.

In addition to their formal education, Ronan Burke has obtained several certifications. In May 2016, they became an Oracle Certified Associate, Java SE 8 Programmer from Oracle. In November 2018, they obtained the AWS Certified Developer – Associate certification from Amazon Web Services (AWS). Most recently, in November 2023, Ronan Burke achieved two certifications from Google: Android Enterprise Certified Associate and Android Enterprise Certified Professional.
