Gaurav Godhwani

Gaurav Godhwani is an experienced professional in data, technology, and civic engagement. As the Executive Director and Co-founder of CivicDataLab since June 2018, Gaurav focuses on enhancing civic engagements in India through data and social science, leveraging open-source movements for better citizen involvement in public reforms. Previously, Gaurav served as the Technical Lead at the Centre for Budget and Governance Accountability from October 2015 to June 2018, where the development of the Open Budgets India data platform was a key achievement. Gaurav also played a significant role as Chapter Leader for DataKind Bangalore from August 2014 to December 2017, aligning data scientists with social organizations to drive data-for-good initiatives. Gaurav's earlier experience includes software engineering roles at ibibo Web Pvt. Ltd. and PromptCloud, with a strong foundation in computer science from IES, IPS Academy.
