Ciaran McAuliffe

Ciaran McAuliffe currently serves as the SVP of Engineering at CivicPlus since November 2025. Previously, Ciaran was the SVP of Software Development at Hootsuite from January 2021 to November 2025, where leadership extended to a global engineering organization across six countries, along with an acting CTO role during a critical transition. Before Hootsuite, Ciaran held the position of VP of Engineering at Sitecore from November 2013 to January 2021, contributing to the company's leadership in experience management software. Ciaran's earlier experience includes roles as Senior Engineering Lead at commerceserver.net, Engineering Lead at Cactus Commerce, Practice Technical Lead at Burntsand Inc, Architect and Lead Developer at the Bank of Nova Scotia, and Lead Developer at the University of Aberdeen. Ciaran holds a BSc in Computer Science from the University of Aberdeen and studied at the University of Guelph.
