Amy Vertal is currently working as a Program Manager in the Census and Data Equity department at The Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights. Prior to that, Amy worked as a Policy Advisor at the NYC Office of the Deputy Mayor for Strategic Policy Initiatives and as a Community Grants Manager for the NYC Department of Youth & Community Development. Amy also has experience working as a Research Assistant/Study Coordinator at City Harvest and as a Research and Administrative Assistant at Boston University School of Public Health. Amy holds a Master of Public Health degree from CUNY Graduate School of Public Health and Health Policy and a Bachelor of Science degree from Boston University.

The Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights is a coalition charged by its diverse membership of more than 250 national organizations to promote and protect the civil and human rights of all persons in the United States. Through advocacy and outreach to targeted constituencies, The Leadership Conference works toward the goal of a more open and just society – an America as good as its ideals. The Leadership Conference is a 501(c)(4) organization that engages in legislative advocacy. It was founded in 1950 and has coordinated national lobbying efforts on behalf of every major civil rights law since 1957.
