Scott Simpson has a diverse work experience in the field of civil and human rights advocacy. Scott began their career as the Deputy Press Secretary for Congresswoman Marcia L. Fudge, where they managed relationships with news outlets and played a role in relaunching the LGBT Congressional Staff Association. Scott then transitioned to The Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights, where they served as the Media and Campaigns Director, overseeing policy advocacy campaigns and media relations for a coalition of national civil rights groups. Additionally, Scott worked as the Public Advocacy Director at Muslim Advocates, where they directed communications and non-litigation programming, and played a key role in fundraising efforts. Scott also taught as an Adjunct Professor at Howard University's School of Communications, mentoring and teaching aspiring journalists and communicators.
