Matsuo Marti

Matsuo Marti has a diverse work experience in the education sector. Starting in 1995, Marti worked as a Senior Digital Design Engineer at Motorola before transitioning to the field of education. In 2004, Marti joined Chicago Public Schools as a Secondary Mathematics Teacher and later became an Instructional Specialist and Teacher Advancement Program Lead Teacher. Marti also served as a Resident Principal and Founding Principal at Sarah E. Goode STEM Academy. Marti then joined Evanston/Skokie School District 65 as the Director of STEM from 2015 to 2017. Marti continued to explore new school models as an Exploring New School Models Fellow at New Leaders Org and as an Educational Entrepreneur Fellow at Chicago International Charter School. From 2018 to 2020, Marti worked as a Chief Innovation Officer and Educational Innovation Consultant at EMBOLDedlabs. Currently, Marti holds the position of Chief Schools Officer at Civitas Education Partners, where they champion a culture of designing developmental experiences for young people.

Matsuo Marti holds a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, which was completed by 1995. Later, in 2004, Matsuo obtained a Master's Degree in Secondary Education and Teaching from DePaul University. In 2009, Matsuo received a National Board Certification in Mathematics for Adolescence and Young Adulthood from the National Boards for Professional Teaching Standards. Additionally, Matsuo obtained a Master's Degree in Educational Administration and Supervision from National Louis University, which was completed by 2012.
