Kayla B. began their work experience in 1992 as an Elementary School Teacher in the Beaverton School District. Kayla then took on various roles within the district, including Literacy Coach and Language Arts and Literacy Teacher on Special Assignment. In 2010, they became an Assistant Principal and later became an Elementary Principal in 2012. In 2019, they became the Administrator for Early Learning and PreK-5 Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment. Currently, they hold the position of Assistant Director of Teaching and Learning at the Clackamas Education Service District.

Kayla B. has attended Concordia College, where they pursued a field of study in Educational Leadership. Additionally, they have studied at Portland State University, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology. Kayla furthered their education at Portland State University by obtaining a Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction.
