Head of Artificial Intelligence at Claid

Carlos Sánchez Mendoza has a diverse work experience in the field of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science. Carlos currently holds the position of Head of Artificial Intelligence at both Claid and Let's Enhance since October 2022. Prior to this, they served as the Director of Data Science at Snappet from September 2021 to September 2022, and as the Head of Data Science from May 2019 to August 2021. From July 2018 to March 2019, they worked as the Head of Artificial Intelligence - Everis NextGen at everis, where they led multiple initiatives related to vision, NLP, IoT systems, and retail applications. Carlos also has experience in entrepreneurship, having served as the Technical Founder at TEXALIGN from September 2015 to June 2018. Carlos has held academic roles as a Postdoctoral Fellow at IE Business School from December 2015 to December 2016, as a Postdoctoral Fellow (Medtech Innovation) at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) from July 2013 to June 2016, and as an Assistant Professor at Universidad de Sevilla from January 2012 to June 2013. Carlos started their career as a PhD Student at Universidad de Sevilla from July 2007 to June 2011. Carlos Sánchez Mendoza has a strong educational background in the field of technology and medical image processing. Carlos obtained their Ph.D in Medical Image Processing from the Universidad de Sevilla, Spain in 2011. Prior to that, they completed their M.Sc in Electronics, Signal Processing, and Communication in 2007, and their B.Sc in Telecommunications Engineering from the same university from 2000 to 2006.

In addition to their formal education, Carlos has also pursued further certifications to enhance their knowledge in the field. Carlos has completed several courses in deep learning and neural networks from Coursera. These include "Deep Learning Specialization", "Sequence Models", "Convolutional Neural Networks", "Improving Deep Neural Networks: Hyperparameter tuning, Regularization and Optimization", "Structuring Machine Learning Projects", and "Neural Networks and Deep Learning". Carlos obtained these certifications between December 2017 and September 2018.
