Markko Waas

Markko Waas has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Markko currently serves as the CEO and Co-founder at Claims Carbon Institute since June 2021. Prior to this, Markko worked as the Head Of Insurance and Corporate Solutions at Doktor24 from April 2019 to June 2021. At Doktor24, they were responsible for business development and commercial management in the Insurance and Corporate segment. Before joining Doktor24, Markko served as the Head Of Insurance at Doctrin AB from November 2017 to March 2019. During their tenure, they focused on building and developing the company's operations in the Insurance and Occupational Health industries.

From October 2015 to October 2017, Markko held the position of CEO at Falck Healthcare AB, the largest private provider of healthcare services in Scandinavia. Markko'sresponsibilities included preventing illness, stress, and strain among employees and ensuring a better, longer, and healthier work life.

Prior to this, Markko worked at AFA Försäkring from May 2011 to October 2015 in various roles including Director and Head of Process- and Business Development and Director and Head of Business Development. During their time at AFA Försäkring, they focused on strategy development and implementation of eBusiness offerings, claims process development, and overall strategy development for the company.

Before joining AFA Försäkring, Markko worked at Gjensidige as the Director of Product and Price, where they were responsible for product profitability and development in the Private portfolio.

From 2001 to 2010, Markko held different roles at If Insurance (If P&C Insurance), including Nordic Head of Underwriting Personal Insurance and Nordic Head of Property Insurance Product & Price. During their time at If Insurance, they gained extensive experience in underwriting and product pricing.

Markko's career started at The Boston Consulting Group, where they worked as an Analyst and management consultant from December 1998 to January 2001. Markko also worked as an Economist at Erik Penser Fondkommission from November 1994 to December 1998.

Through their extensive work experience, Markko Waas has acquired a diverse skill set and expertise in areas such as business development, strategy implementation, insurance, and healthcare.

Markko Waas obtained a Master of Science degree in Economics from Uppsala University, where they studied from 1990 to 1994. Following that, they pursued a Master of Business Administration degree in Business Administration and Management at Stockholm School of Economics from 2002 to 2004.
