Wayne Embree is currently a board member of Clarametyx Biosciences, Inc. and has over 25 years of experience in the venture capital and investment industries.
Wayne began their career as a Tactical Operations Officer in the United States Air Force, where they served for five years. Wayne then transitioned to become a Policy Analyst for the Oregon Legislative Assembly for two years. In 1986, they became Vice President of the Oregon Resource and Technology Development Fund and held that position for seven years.
In 1993, they co-founded Cascadia Partners, a seed-stage focused venture capital fund that invested in enabling technologies for life sciences, energy, environmental and related information technologies. The firm later merged with Oregon Life Science Partners in 2004 and was renamed Reference Capital Management. Wayne served as Managing Partner until their departure in 2010.
In October 2010, Wayne joined i2E, Inc. as VP of Entrepreneur Services. i2E, Inc. is new venture development and investment firm focused on creating and anchoring wealth within the state. Wayne served in this role for two years before joining Clarametyx Biosciences, Inc. in August 2012.
Wayne Embree studied urban planning at the University of Oregon, where they earned their MS. Wayne also holds a BS in natural sciences from Western Oregon University.
