Wendy Martin is a distinguished academic with extensive experience in American literature and studies, currently serving as a Professor of American Literature and American Studies at Claremont Graduate University since July 1987. In addition to teaching, Wendy Martin holds several leadership positions, including Director of the Tufts Poetry Awards, Vice Provost and Founding Director of Transdisciplinary Studies, and Chair of the English Department and Faculty Executive Committee. As the Founding Editor of Women's Studies, an Interdisciplinary Journal since June 1972, Wendy Martin has significantly contributed to the field of women's studies. Previously, Wendy Martin was a Professor of English at Queens College from September 1968 to 1995. Wendy Martin earned a Ph.D. in American Literature from the University of California, Davis, between 1962 and 1968.
