Jen Newton

Jen Newton has a diverse work experience in the art and museum industry. Their most recent role is as a Senior 20th Century Specialist and Art Fair Manager at Clarendon Fine Art, where they started in September 2020. Prior to that, they worked as a Membership Services Assistant at the British Museum from November 2018 to September 2020. Jen also gained experience as a Portrait Commissions Intern at Mall Galleries / Federation of British Artists in February 2019. Other positions they held include Boutique Assistant at the Royal Ontario Museum from March 2018 to September 2018, Arts Writer at Unimelb Adventures from February 2017 to November 2017, Intern at City Gallery Wellington from March 2015 to November 2016, Children's Art Workshop Assistant at Stanley and Audrey Burton Gallery from January 2016 to June 2016, Gallery Host at Adam Art Gallery from November 2014 to November 2015, and Gallery Assistant at Real Aotearoa from August 2014 to September 2015.

Jen Newton completed their education primarily in the field of art history and related subjects. Jen first attended Victoria University of Wellington from 2014 to 2016, where they pursued a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree with a specialization in Art History and Media Studies. In 2016, they attended the University of Leeds for a semester abroad, studying Art History and Cultural Studies as part of their BA program. Jen then pursued further studies at the University of Melbourne in 2017, where they completed a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) degree with a focus on Art History. Their education journey culminated at UCL in 2018 to 2019, where they obtained a Master of Arts (MA) degree in Museology/Museum Studies.
