Mike Bianco

Mike Bianco's work experience includes a variety of roles in the fields of deep learning, machine learning, research, and engineering.

Mike is currently working as a Senior Research Scientist in the field of deep learning at Clarifai. Prior to this, they were a Machine Learning Scientist at JASR Systems, where they developed automated approaches for detecting and classifying RF spectrum transmissions using deep learning-based object recognition and anomaly detection.

Before joining JASR Systems, Mike worked at UC San Diego, where they held multiple roles including Assistant Project Scientist and Postdoctoral Scholar. During their time there, they focused on research projects related to machine learning algorithms in the geosciences and improving subsurface imaging methods in seismology.

Earlier in their career, Mike worked as a Senior Research Scientist at Boston Fusion, where their work focused on research and development. Mike also has experience in engineering roles at Pratt Whitney Rocketdyne, where they developed control software for jet engines and worked on the design and verification of rocket engine tubing and duct systems.

Overall, Mike Bianco has a strong background in research, development, and engineering, with expertise in deep learning, machine learning, and geosciences.

Mike Bianco obtained their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Applied Science from UC San Diego between 2012 and 2018. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Aerospace, Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering from Purdue University from 2003 to 2007. In addition to their formal education, Mike also obtained a certification in Deep Learning and Reinforcement Learning from CIFAR in August 2019.
