Joel Smits

Joel Smits possesses extensive experience in financial management and procurement, currently serving as the US Lead & Procurement Controller and US Lead & Recycling Controller at Clarios since May 2019. Prior to this, Joel held various roles at Johnson Controls from March 2013 to April 2019, including Global Procurement Controller and Global Manager Financial Governance within the Power Solutions sector. Joel's career began at Schenck SC as a Senior Internal Auditor and Senior Accountant, focusing on financial reporting and auditing. Additionally, Joel's early leadership roles at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire included Campus Ambassador and Resident Assistant. Joel earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and Finance from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire in 2009.
