Chris Brasier

Chief Practice and Culture Officer & Design Director at Clark, Nexsen

As our Higher Education practice leader, Chris Brasier has focused his career on serving higher education clients by guiding the planning and design for a diverse cross section of campus building typologies. His work is informed by his active engagement in teaching at the university level, which provides firsthand experience of dramatic changes occurring both within and outside classrooms on college campuses. Recent projects include work at George Washington University, Duke University, and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Chris was appointed by the Governor to the North Carolina Board of Architecture and recently completed his service to the role of board president/chair. He holds both a Bachelor of Architecture and a Bachelor of Environmental Design from North Carolina State University and a Master of Business Administration from Duke University. Chris is an adjunct professor at Duke University’s Pratt School of Engineering where he serves as director of the Architectural Engineering Certificate Program.

Chris helps shape the direction of the firm as both a design director and a member of our Board of Directors. His leadership responsibilities include fostering a firm culture of “proactive curiosity” by creating the conditions in which collaboration and creativity thrive. Chris’ charge includes ensuring the firm realizes its full creative potential by engaging across disciplines, markets, and offices to bring diverse thinking and perspectives that allow Clark Nexsen to address our client’s most critical opportunities and challenges.

When he’s not working, Chris enjoys traveling to see his daughter in San Francisco and going to various sports events with his son.
