Leona Humchitt

Advisory Board | Remote Community Energy Strategy at Clean Energy Association of BC (CEBC)

Leona Humchitt, MBA, serves as an Indigenous Council Member at Wah-ila-toos, providing guidance to the Government of Canada on Indigenous policies and resource access. As a member of the Advisory Board for the Clean Energy Association of BC, Leona contributes to governance and decision-making for remote community energy strategies. In the role of Climate Action Coordinator with the Haiłzaqv Nation, Leona focuses on climate initiatives. Previous leadership roles include Chairperson at Heiltsuk Economic Development Corporation and Council Member at Heiltsuk Tribal Council. Leona's extensive experience also includes serving as an RCMP Office Manager and Bella Bella Housing Administrator. Educationally, Leona holds an MBA in Indigenous Business and Leadership from Simon Fraser University, a Graduate Certificate in Aquaculture from The University of British Columbia, and is pursuing further studies in Indigenous Governance at the University of Arizona.
