Katie Southworth has a diverse work experience spanning various roles in the energy and policy sectors. Katie is currently serving as the Deputy Director for Market & Policy Innovation - South & Southeast at the Clean Energy Buyers Association. Previously, they held the position of Advocacy Program Director at the Southface Institute and worked as a Consultant at both EMV Energy Solutions and the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC). Prior to that, they worked for the State of Tennessee as a Senior Policy Program Manager and State Energy Program Manager. Katie also has experience as a Research and Policy Analyst at Economic Opportunity Studies, Inc. and was a Vito Stagliano Scholar at the Bipartisan Policy Center. With a strong background in energy and climate policy, Katie Southworth brings extensive expertise to the organizations they have worked with.

Katie Southworth's education history begins with their attendance at Oak Ridge High School from 1998 to 2001. Following this, they pursued a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and Spanish Language at Vanderbilt University between 2001 and 2005. In 2005, they went on to obtain a Foundation degree in Mandarin Language & Culture from Zhejiang University, studying there for one year. Lastly, they attended the University of Tennessee College of Law from 2006 to 2009, earning a Doctor of Law - JD degree with a focus on the Advocacy Program.
