James A. Ellis

James A. Ellis is an active early stage investor, and seasoned executive and entrepreneur. He has been the founder of several companies that focused on the creation and dissemination of a proprietary body of broadcast, government, financial, and international news and information via electronic text format for news related, research, market intelligence, and industry surveillance purposes. Key responsibilities included co-management of finance and legal departments, as well as structuring and managing company joint ventures and spinouts. Earlier in his career, Ellis worked as an attorney in Boston, where his transactional practice included mergers and acquisitions, private placements, and advising corporations and individuals on corporate, real estate and personal matters.

He is also a frequent panelist on impact investing, specifically on the use of donor advised funds to support market-based solutions to climate change.

Jimmy has served on the boards of several companies such as City National Bancshares (City National Bank of Florida’s bank holding company), E-Media Millworks and Telekol Corp., and currently serves as a member of Rhapsody Venture Partners Fund II LP Advisory Board.

He is a graduate of Bowdoin College and Boston University School of Law.
