Mikala Newsom

Mikala Newsom is a developer at CleanChoice Energy since October 2025, with a strong background in solar project management gained during a five-year tenure at Pine Gate Renewables as Development Project Manager and Associate Development Project Manager. Expertise includes managing the comprehensive development processes for solar projects, identifying project constraints, creating project timelines and budgets, and fostering relationships with various stakeholders. Mikala has also worked as a Solar Consultant with Better Tomorrow Solar, an Environmental Analyst Intern with Kimley-Horn, and held multiple research and outreach roles at the University of Georgia, all of which contributed to a robust foundation in ecology and environmental policy. Educational credentials include a Bachelor of Arts in Ecology and a minor in Environmental Economics and Management from the University of Georgia.
