Stu Laird

Stu Laird has over 38 years of work experience in various roles and industries. Stu started their career in 1984 as a player for the Calgary Stampeders. After their football career, they worked at the Calgary Fire Department as a Battalion Chief for over 30 years, from February 1989 to July 2020. In parallel, from 1997 to 2002, they worked at Paratech Energy Services as a Sales Manager. From 2000 to 2012, they served as the President of the CFL Players Association. Following that, they worked at Newsco Directional & Horizontal Drilling Services Inc as a Business Development Manager from 2002 to 2008 and at Compass Directional Drilling as a Business Development professional from September 2008 to June 2022. Currently, they are the Director of Business Development at Cleantek Industries Inc, a position they have held since July 2022.

Stu Laird attended the University of Calgary from 1978 to 1983, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics. After completing their undergraduate studies, there is no information available about any further education or degree pursued by Stu Laird. However, they have acquired several additional certifications. Stu received certifications in "Indigenous Religions & Ecology" from Yale University in April 2023, "Aboriginal Worldviews and Education" from the University of Toronto in March 2023, and "Indigenous Canada" from the University of Alberta in February 2023. In addition, Stu Laird has obtained certifications in emergency management.
