Richard Perez has worked in the cybersecurity field for over 20 years. Richard'smost recent role was as Director of DoDIN Programs at Clear Ridge Defense, a position they have held since 2020. Prior to this, they were a Principal Computer Forensics Analyst at CACI Ltd from 2016 to 2020, a Sr. Incident Response & Malware Analysis Consultant at FireEye, Inc. from 2015 to 2016, a Senior Cyber Intel Analyst at Lockheed Martin from 2015 to 2016, a Cyber Fusion Team Lead and Senior Cyber Intel Analyst at Northrop Grumman from 2009 to 2015, a DIA, Information Systems Security Analyst at Analytical Services Inc from 2007 to 2009, a JTF-GNO, Incident Handling Team at Secure Infrastructure Solutions Corporation from 2006 to 2007, a DoD-CERT/JTF-GNO, Incident Manager at SoftConcept Inc from 2002 to 2006, and a Satellite Controller / Computer Operator III at Honeywell from 1997 to 2002. In this role, they monitored and operated multiple spacecraft and computer systems, led a team of satellite operators in providing 24/7 errorless high energy support, and maintained a working knowledge of COMET.

Richard Perez attended Mountain Mission School from 1990 to 1994. In November 2019, they obtained a GIAC Certified Incident Handler (GCIH) certification from the SANS Institute.
