John MacMillan started their work experience in 1985, as an Associate Professor in Veterinary and Aquatic Animal Medicine at the College of Veterinary Medicine, Mississippi State University. In 1990, they transitioned to Clear Springs Foods, where they held the role of Vice President.
John MacMillan attended the University of Washington from 1976 to 1980, where they obtained their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Fish and comparative pathology.
