Ian McGuinness

Ian McGuinness has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Ian began their career as an IT Analyst at AIB in 1996 and later worked as a DBA for an internet start-up called QM4 from 2000 to 2001.

Ian then joined SiteLite.com as a Managed Services Lead from 2001 to 2004, where they served as a SQL Server Analyst and also led the European Managed Services team.

From 2004 to 2009, Ian worked as a Senior Consultant at Client Solutions, designing and implementing data warehouse solutions for financial services and telecommunications companies.

In 2009, they joined PayPal as a Snr Leader, Business Intelligence, where they were responsible for developing and delivering reporting solutions to internal customers across multiple departments and call centers. Ian also led development teams in Shanghai, Dublin, and Omaha.

In 2015, Ian joined Liberty Insurance Ireland as a Data Manager. Here, they led a development team spread across Ireland, Spain, and Portugal, delivering a multi-year initiative to create a new suite of datamarts supporting actuarial models.

Currently, Ian works at Clear Strategy as a Data Manager, starting from 2023.

Ian McGuinness completed their education at University College Cork. In 1993, they obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Commerce. Continuing their education, from 1995 to 1996, they pursued a Diploma in Computer Science from the same institution. Apart from their formal education, Ian McGuinness has also attained certifications such as Professional Scrum Master™ I (PSM I) from Scrum.org in March 2023 and Certified SAFe® 5 Agilist from Scaled Agile, Inc. in November 2022.
