Michael Berends

Michael Berends is the CEO and Co-Founder of ClearBlue Markets since 2015. Michael was also the Global Energy Manager at ICL Group from March 2015 to December 2015. Prior to that, they served as the Manager Carbon Emissions Origination at Vattenfall from December 2008 to February 2015. Michael held the position of Manager Emissions Sales at Barclays Capital from October 2007 to December 2008, and was a Senior Consultant at EcoSecurities from 2005 to September 2007.

Michael Berends has a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the University of Toronto, which they obtained between 1996 and 2001. Michael then pursued a Master of Science degree in Conservation Biology from the same university, completing it between 2001 and 2003. Later, in 2004 and 2005, they attended the University of Amsterdam to earn another Master's degree in Environmental Management.
