Lucas Ladeira has been working in the engineering field since 2011. Lucas began as a Professional Freelancer working from home on reinforced concrete projects, foundations, and buildings for industrial, residential, and commercial purposes. In 2013, they joined Pyxis Engineering as a Structural Engineer and Business Partner, where they continued to work on similar projects. In 2014, they moved to Hatch as a Structural Engineer, developing structures for mining and working with a multinational team of Brazilians, Canadians, and Indians. That same year, they also began working as a Masters Student at CT Nano, where they conducted research on the use of carbon nanotubes in cement and developed a furnace for the synthesis of carbon nanotubes. From 2017 to 2020, Lucas held University Lecturer roles at the Newton Paiva Universitary Centre, FEAMIG - Engineering College of Minas Gerais, and Pontifical Catholic University of Minas Gerais. In 2020, they also took on the roles of Research Assistant and Academic Tutor at the University of Melbourne. In 2021, Lucas began working as a Lead Structural Engineer at ClearCalcs.

Lucas Ladeira completed a Bachelor of Engineering in Civil Engineering from Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais between 2003 and 2008. Lucas then continued their education at the same university, completing a Master of Science (Engineering) in Structural Engineering between 2014 and 2017. In 2019, they completed a Master of Engineering (MEng) in Structural Engineering at the University of Melbourne.
