Dian Grueneich

Dian is an internationally recognized energy policy expert. She began her career helping to develop the first-ever building codes, appliance standards, decoupling policies and clean energy programs. Dian served as a Commissioner on the California Public Utilities Commission from 2005 to 2010 and is a Precourt Energy Scholar with Stanford University’s Precourt Institute for Energy (PIE). She helped found the Stanford Energy Internships in California and the West program and created PIE’s on-line California and Western Energy Lecture Series. Dian has received the 30th Anniversary Award of the American Council for an Energy Efficiency Economy (ACEEE) for Outstanding Contribution and its National Champion of Energy Efficiency Award, the NARUC Clean Energy Award, and eeGlobal Forum’s first “Visionary Award” for Leadership in Developing the California Long-Term Energy Efficiency Strategic Plan. She has served on ACEEE’s Board, the Electricity Advisory Committee of the U.S. Department of Energy, and the External Advisory Committee of the National Renewable Energy Laboratory.
