Melissa P. has over 12 years of experience in clinical research. Melissa began their career in 2008 as a Clinical Research Assistant at PAREXEL, where they collected, reviewed, and maintained regulatory documents from clinical sites, participated in team teleconferences, and took meeting minutes. In 2010, they joined Scripps Health as a Clinical Research Assistant III, where they reviewed and approved site regulatory packages prior to drug shipments, was responsible for QC of investigator site files, and facilitated weekly Clinical Lead calls and bi-weekly PI/Coordinator calls. In 2013, they took on the role of Clinical Research Coordinator at Scripps Health, where they were praised for successful IRB audits and their dedication to ongoing self-improvement. In 2016, they became a Senior Project Manager at Scripps Research, where they managed enrollment of direct volunteer cohort and developed and improved the enrollment and biosample collection experience. In 2019, they joined CV Sciences, Inc. as a Project Manager, where they interacted with all members of a virtual team to coordinate activities associated with drug development, managed all vendor scopes of work, budgets and change orders, and reported into senior management to track progress and execute projects efficiently. Most recently, in 2020, they became the Director of Clinical Research Repository at ClearNote Health (formerly Bluestar Genomics).

Melissa P. obtained a Bachelor's degree in Multi/Interdisciplinary Studies Art, Psychology and Sociology from San Diego State University between 2005 and 2007. Melissa then completed a Certification in Clinical Trials Design and Management from UC San Diego Extended Studies between 2007 and 2009. In 2013, Melissa P. earned a Master's degree in Psychology from National University. In April 2016, they obtained a Certified Clinical Research Coordinator (CCRC) from ACRP. Finally, in November 2018, Melissa P. earned a Project Management Professional (PMP) from the Project Management Institute.
