Andrea Antonello - PhD, MBA

Space Robotics Lead at ClearSpace

Andrea Antonello has a diverse work experience in the field of robotics and engineering. They are currently serving as the Space Robotics Lead at ClearSpace since November 2022. Prior to this, they worked at Automata from October 2021 to November 2022 as an Engineering Manager. At Automata, they also held the role of Technical Lead - Controls and Robotics from December 2019 to October 2021 and worked as a Robotics Engineer from July 2018 to December 2019.

Before joining Automata, Andrea Antonello worked as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Università degli Studi di Padova from April 2017 to June 2018. They also held the position of Postdoctoral Researcher at Georgia Institute of Technology from May 2016 to October 2016, where they worked on various control problems related to robotics and space manipulators under the supervision of Prof. Panagiotis Tsiotras.

In addition, Andrea Antonello has gained research experience through exchange programs. They worked as an Exchange Graduate at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in 2015, focusing on the improvement and enhancement of GelSight technology under the supervision of Prof. E. Adelson. They also served as an Exchange Graduate Student at Boston University from October 2014 to March 2015, studying cooperative manipulation among robots without communication under the guidance of Prof. M. Schwager.

Furthermore, they gained experience as an Exchange Graduate Student at UC Irvine in 2013. Under the supervision of Prof. M. Gamero, they studied the particle dynamics of an Electrospray Differential Mobility Analyzer and developed software scripts for data analysis. Additionally, under the guidance of Prof. M. Madou, they analyzed the properties and performances of carbon Interdigitated Electrode Arrays.

Andrea Antonello's work experience showcases their expertise in robotics, engineering management, and research in the field of robotics and control systems.

Andrea Antonello has an extensive education background. Andrea began their academic journey in 2008 at the Università degli Studi di Padova, where they obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Ingegneria aerospaziale, aeronautica e astronautica in 2011. Following this, they pursued a Master's Degree in the same field at the same university from 2008 to 2013.

During their Master's program, Andrea decided to expand their knowledge and enrolled at UC Irvine for the 2012-2013 academic year, where they completed a second Master's Degree in Ingegneria aerospaziale, aeronautica e astronautica.

In 2014, Andrea obtained the TOEFL certification from The TOEFL® test.

Andrea's educational journey took a significant turn in 2015 when they simultaneously pursued two degrees. Andrea joined The University of Iowa Tippie College of Business and earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a focus on leadership and entrepreneurship skills, completing the program in 2017. Additionally, during the same time, they studied at CIMBA and earned a Master in Business Administration with a concentration in Business.

Continuing their academic pursuit, Andrea then pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) at the Università degli Studi di Padova from 2014 to 2017. Andrea'sresearch focused on Ingegneria aerospaziale, aeronautica e astronautica/spaziale.

Overall, Andrea Antonello has a diverse education history, with degrees in aerospace engineering, business administration, and a doctorate in aerospace engineering.
