Aurélien Cuffolo has a diverse work experience in the aerospace industry. Aurélien is currently working at ClearSpace SA as the Propulsion Subsystem Lead since 2021.
Prior to that, Aurélien worked at Thales Alenia Space for a significant period, starting in 2006. During their time there, they held various roles, including AOCS R&D Engineer and Senior Propulsion Engineer. As an AOCS R&D Engineer, they managed and implemented R&D studies and projects related to spacecraft GNC and robotics. Aurélien also disseminated the results through publications and transferred the developed technologies across company business lines. Additionally, they served as the AOCS architect during ITT phases. In their role as a Senior Propulsion Engineer, they were the principal engineer and propulsion architect for chemical propulsion systems. Aurélien was appointed as a technical expert in chemical propulsion by the company's CTO and had exceptional expertise in chemical thrusters. Aurélien was responsible for telecommunication and Earth Observation missions throughout all project phases.
Aurélien also briefly worked at Safran as a Rocket Engine Valves Product Engineer in 2006.
Before joining Thales Alenia Space, they worked at the same company in 2004 as a Propulsion Engineer. In this role, they were responsible for engineering and procurement of bipropellant propulsion systems for telecommunications satellites. Aurélien also sourced for bipropellant propulsion systems for other satellite models and prepared technical proposals for LEO and GEO satellites.
