Chitra Sundaram

Chitra Sundaram is a Principal Consultant at Cleartelligence and has over fifteen years of experience in the field of Enterprise Data Management. Chitra has held previous positions at GLG (Gerson Lehrman Group) and PAREXEL, where they served as the Senior Director of Enterprise Data Management. In this role, Chitra led the information management practice of 35 staff members, which included data architects, visualization experts, MDM experts, and data governance pros. In addition, they directed strategy, design, development, and the maturity of Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) and Business Intelligence programs.

Chitra has a proven track record of collaborating with global stakeholders, SMEs, and cross-functional project teams to deliver high-quality outcomes on highly demanding timelines. Chitra is an expert in establishing an evolving actionable roadmap to support both clinical and corporate information management goals. Chitra also made C-level data transparency a top priority with streamlined KPIs and real-time dashboards.

During their time at PAREXEL, Chitra modernized current data architectures to DW design, instituted the “Data Lake” concept to provide agility and accessibility for data analytics teams, and initiated the company’s big data program. Chitra also established and headed the Data Governance Council as Data Steward with a clear charter for goals, objectives, roles, and responsibilities. In addition, Chitra led the development of the “pass-through” forecast calculation product, which enabled customers to budget forecasted expenses throughout the lifecycle of clinical studies.

Chitra’s work has improved protocol feasibility and patient recruitment for clinical studies by tapping into large amounts of data from Electronic Health Record Networks and online patient communities. Chitra has also built 31 critical business interfaces for EDW – leveraging Oracle ERP tools to centralize, secure, and provide greater access to actionable data. This has reduced daily information transfer time by 50% from five hours to just under an hour.

Chitra Sundaram has completed executive education in data science from the University of California, Berkeley. Chitra has also completed a Next Generation Executive Certificate from THE PARTNERSHIP, INC. Additionally, they have a LEAD certification in Helping Women Transitioning From Managing To Leading from WOMEN Unlimited, INc. Chitra has also completed Big Data and Social Analytics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Furthermore, they have an Executive Certificate in Management and Leadership from the MIT Sloan School of Management. Additionally, they have various certifications from LinkedIn, Snowflake, Alteryx, and Amazon Web Services (AWS).
