John Lopes

John Lopes currently serves as the Associate Provost and Dean of the Graduate School at Clemson University, a position held since August 2020. Previously, John Lopes contributed to the University of Massachusetts Amherst from September 2007 to August 2020 as the Associate Dean for Operations and Graduate Programs, as well as the Head of the Department of Microbiology and a Professor. John Lopes also worked at Wayne State University from September 1997 to August 2007, holding the role of Associate Chair of Biological Sciences and Professor. Academic credentials include a B.S. in Zoology from the University of Rhode Island, completed between 1978 and 1982, and further education at the University of South Carolina from 1982 to 1987.
