Austin Peterson has a diverse range of work experience in the basketball industry. Austin has spent a significant amount of time with the Cleveland Cavaliers, starting in 2014 as a Team Attendant and later assisting with the 2015 Vegas Summer League. Austin has also worked with the Cleveland Charge, starting in 2014 as a Basketball Operations Special Assistant and later taking on roles as a Seasonal Coaching Assistant and Special Assistant to the Coaching Staff.
Peterson's experience extends to the Charlotte Hornets, where they worked as a Basketball Operations Intern. Austin has also gained experience at the collegiate level, serving as a Men's Basketball Student Coach, Video Coordinator, and Player Development Coach at Baldwin Wallace University.
In 2019, Peterson joined the Cleveland C's Cavaliers Legion Gaming Club as a Coordinator of Basketball Operations and Head Coach. Austin continued to contribute to the team as the Head Coach until 2021.
Most recently, in 2022, Peterson was hired by the Cleveland Cavaliers as a Coaching Analyst Assistant. Overall, Peterson has a well-rounded background that includes coaching, video coordination, and basketball operations roles.
Austin Peterson attended Baldwin Wallace University from 2014 to 2017 and obtained a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Sport Management. Prior to that, from 2013 to 2014, they attended Kent State University at Stark and Stark State College for post-secondary general education. Austin Peterson completed high school at Louisville High School from 2010 to 2014. In addition to their formal education, they obtained several certifications including a Google Online Certification: Foundations: Data, Data, Everywhere from Google in August 2022, a Learn Python 3 Course from Codecademy in August 2022, a Learn Microsoft Excel for Data Analysis Course from Codecademy in July 2022, an Analyze Data with SQL Skill Path from Codecademy in May 2022, and a Learn SQL Course from Codecademy in May 2022.
