Mike Mays has a diverse work experience in the field of sports and corporate development. Mike started their career as a General Intern at the Lorain County Ironmen, where they took on various roles such as statistician, scoreboard operator, ticket taker, and concessions worker. Mike also had responsibilities in ticket sales calls and securing sponsorship opportunities.
After that, Mike joined the Cincinnati Reds as a Group Sales Intern, where they managed group sales and implemented new promotions. Mike gained proficiency in ticket processing programs.
Next, they worked at the University of Cincinnati Department of Athletics as a Fundraising and Development Intern. Mike handled donor accounts, developed new fundraising ideas, and assisted with game day operations for football and basketball games.
Later, Mike joined the Ohio High School Athletic Association as a Team Sports Intern. Mike organized regional and state tournaments, implemented initiatives to improve high school sports, and executed fan experience and sport development projects.
Following that, they served as the VP of Corporate Development at the Lake Erie Crushers, focusing on identifying and securing corporate sponsorship deals, increasing revenue through sponsorship, and creating new revenue streams through cross-marketing with Corporate Partners.
Currently, Mike holds the position of Manager in Global Partnership Development at the Cleveland Cavaliers, where they are responsible for managing and developing global partnerships. Mike also previously held the role of Manager in Franchise Partnership Development within the same organization.
Mike Mays attended The Ohio State University from 2014 to 2015 and obtained a Master's Degree in Sport Management. Prior to that, they studied at the University of Cincinnati from 2010 to 2014 and earned a Bachelor's Degree in Sport Administration.
