David Hearne

Commissioner Of Air Quality at Cleveland Department of Public Health

David Hearne has extensive experience in environmental management and air quality regulation, currently serving as the Commissioner of Air Quality for the Cleveland Department of Public Health since December 2016, overseeing all agency operations as a representative of the Ohio EPA. Former positions include Interim Commissioner of Air Quality, Chief of Engineering at the Cleveland Division of Air Quality from 2000 to 2016, Principal at DH Environment, Senior Environmental Scientist at Midwest Research Institute, and Environmental Scientist at Versar. David Hearne holds a BS in Biology from Randolph-Macon College, an MS in Environmental Biology from George Mason University, and a Certificate of Achievement from the Cleveland Leadership Academy.
